It’s the last day of the new year and we find ourselves contemplating the past and anticipating the future. With an unusually warm winter here in Western North Carolina, small mountain towns are full of happy tourists. Families and friends who have realized the importance of quality time together.
Cherokee, NC will be sending 2014 off with wonderful display of fireworks tonight at the Cherokee Indian Fairgrounds. Light show starts at 10pm.
In Bryson City, Nantahala Brewing Company is hosting a New Year’s Eve party. They are offering $3 pints of Dirty Girl Blonde and Noonday IPA all day. Live music starts at 8:30pm with Soldier’s Heart. They call themselves “honest porch and soul” music and will be rocking into 2015. At midnight, there will be a Devil’s Courthouse Toast.
It’s not too late to make plans. While there’s lots going on, there’s also no shame in staying in for the evening. A rustic mountain cabin can be a perfect place to start the new year off right.
Here’s to our happiest year yet!
