Tom Branch Falls is the first of several waterfalls along Deep Creek Trail. A wonderful place for a picnic lunch, it’s only a 1,000 feet from the trail head to the falls. Over 80 feet high, Tom Branch gently splashes down mossy rock ledges and flows into Deep Creek. The park service has installed wooden benches there for you to sit and enjoy the view. In winter, a quiet spot for solitude. In summer, a great place to people watch as tourists and locals alike enjoy tubing on the cold waters of Deep Creek. Add this to your must-see list for the Smokies! Just 3 miles outside of downtown Bryson City, it makes a great day hike! Due to water temperature and the mountain breeze this is a cool place to be on a hot summer day!
